  The first combat operation of the UH-1 was in the service of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. The original designation of HU-1 led to the helicopter's nickname of Huey.   The Douglas F4D Skyray (later re-designated F-6 Skyray) was an American carrier-based fighter/interceptor built by the Douglas Aircraft Company. Although it was in service for a relatively short time and never entered combat, it was notable for being the first carrier-launched aircraft to hold the world's absolute speed record,[1] and was the first United States Navy and United States Marine Corps fighter capable of exceeding Mach 1 in level flight.  The ultimate offroad vehicle inspired by the amazing work of helicopter pioneer Frank Piasecki. This is a smaller, lighter and faster development of the concept for civilian use. Although an Airgeep is nowhere near as efficient as a helicopter, there are some environments and situations where the shrouded fans make perfect sense; forests for example, or when operating close to people.
