Our cities are being bombed around the clock, and the death toll is mounting. Our best pilots are becoming a memory as they throw themselves against the fierce guns of the heavy bomber streams. Germany's single hope may be the new type of fighter aircraft in development, but the Fuehrer has made it known that he wants the new jet used as a bomber! With High Command showing their typical wisdom, the situation is desperate. Can you help turn the tide? It's time to leave Berlin and your administration desk behind. Your Bf 109 is ready to fly. Barbarossa
Barbarossa: Campaign for Bf-109 and Fw-190 This file is compatible with the original IL-2 Sturmovik version 1.2. In this campaign, the “Unternehmen Barbarossa” is simulated from the beginning in 1941 until the evacuation of the Crimea in 1944. The events, squadrons, ground units, troops and divisions etc. are included just as and where they were in these days. It is as correct from the historical point of view as I could make it :-) You can chose to fly the Messerschmitt Bf-109 fighter with its different versions as well as the Focke-Wulf Fw-190 A4. If you like to fly the Fw-190, you have to be patient: You will start with the Bf-109 F2/F4 and switch to the Focke-Wulf after several missions (after about ¼ of all missions). Either way, the missions are up to 95% identical, no matter what plane you have chosen.
