CFS2 Ki.21 Package |
Two models covered, Ki.21-I and Ki.21-IIB. The Ki-21 was designed in response to a demanding specification from the Imperial Japanese Army for a heavy bomber in 1936. The design was chosen over the Nakajima Ki-19 and suffered severe teething problems and specification changes but eventually was put into production in 1937 by Mitsubishi and Nakajima in 1938. Serving as the Army's premier bomber through the late 30's the type suffered heavily in Burma against the Hurricane and eventually faded from service by 1943. By peperez 7.1 mb |

CFS2/FS2002/FS2004 PB2Y Coronado |
The Coronado resulted from a U.S. Navy request for the development of a maritime patrol bomber larger than the PBY Catalina, one that would have increased performance and good weapon load capability. Though the prototype first flew in December 1937, the Navy did not have the funds at that time to procure the aircraft, and Consolidated had to wait 15 months before orders were placed.FSDSv2 model by Jim Jacobson. 4.8MB |

CFS2 Royal Navy Seafang F-32 |
CFS2 Royal Navy Seafang F-32. The Seafang was the navalized version of Supermarine's Spiteful. The wings were made to hydraulically fold upwards and a tailhook was fitted. They were the end of the Spitfire/Seafire line. The Seafang has been aptly described as "a Spitfire too far." This particular aircraft, Seafang FR 32, VB895, was flown by noted test pilot Mike Lithgow in May 1947 during deck landing trials on HMS Illustrious. CFS2 RA-5C Vigilante |
Requires the CFS2 Jet Base files here otherwise this aircraft will not show. Planned in late 1950's as a successor to the AJ-1 Savage, the Vigilante prototype first flew in 1958 and was decades ahead of its time, with many 'firsts' such as a digital computer, INS, slab tail and variable inlets and much more. Although conceived as a bomber, the USAF soon adopted the nuclear strike role which meant the A-5 was used soley for the recon role. The RA-5C was used in Vietnam (18 were lost) and continued in service until 1980. Model Designer : Michael Davies. 1.7MB |
