 The Coronado resulted from a U.S. Navy request for the development of a maritime patrol bomber larger than the PBY Catalina, one that would have increased performance and good weapon load capability. | CFS2 Royal Navy Seafang F-32 |
 CFS2 Royal Navy Seafang F-32. The Seafang was the navalized version of Supermarine's Spiteful. The wings were made to hydraulically fold upwards and a tailhook was fitted. They were the end of the Spitfire/Seafire line. The Seafang has been aptly described as "a Spitfire too far." This particular aircraft, Seafang FR 32, VB895, was flown by noted test pilot Mike Lithgow in May 1947 during deck landing trials on HMS Illustrious. | CFS2 RA-5C Vigilante |
 Requires the CFS2 Jet Base files here otherwise this aircraft will not show. Planned in late 1950's as a successor to the AJ-1 Savage, the Vigilante prototype first flew in 1958 and was decades ahead of its time, with many 'firsts' such as a digital computer, INS, slab tail and variable inlets and much more. Although conceived as a bomber, the USAF soon adopted the nuclear strike role which meant the A-5 was used soley for the recon role.  Painted over The B24 Guy's F6F-3 Overhaul Model. Note black and white invasion stripes on fuselage and upper and lower main wing surfaces. Code letters are red, outlined in white. This paint is indicative to the aircraft of the 800 NAS flown from the HMS Emperor in 1944; however, there is no data to back up any authenticity of any aircraft ever adorned in this paint.
