FS2002 Fokker T-V |
FS2002 Fokker T-V. The first T-V prototype flew in 1935. This type of aircraft was intended to protect a dedicated area. It had to be heavily armed and fast and above that it had to carry enough fuel to stay in the air for a long time. The Dutch Airforce ordered sixteen T.5's but when they were delivered the whole concept was outdated. Another task of the T.5 would have been that of a bomber and that remained as the major task. However, just a few of them had bomb racks, so this task also was not fully carried out . The aircraft remained in service until 1940. Model and textures by Richard Alexander van Hien. 1.1 mb |

FS2000/FS2002 De Schelde DS 21 |
FS2000/FS2002 De Schelde DS 21. A Dutch company called Koninklijke Maatschappij De Schelde started an aviation department with the collapse of Pander and Zonen picking up that company's chief engineer in 1935. The aircraft had some unusual features. It was all-metal in construction, with a reverse gull wing with twin booms. De Schelde S.21 single seat fighter was powered by a 1085 hp Daimler-Benz DB 600G 12-cylinder inverted V liquid cooled engine driving a pusher propeller via a shaft. FS2000/FS2002 Convair XFV1 Pogo |
FS2000/FS2002 Convair XFV1 Pogo. The Convair XFY Pogo tailsitter was an experiment in vertical takeoff and landing. The Pogo had delta wings and three-bladed contra-rotating propellers powered by a 5500 hp Allison YT40-A-16 turboprop engine. It was intended to be a high-performance fighter aircraft capable of operating from small warships. Landing the XFY-1 was difficult as the pilot had to look over his shoulder while carefully working the throttle to land. By Richard Alexander van Hien. 567 kb |

FS2000/FS2002 Vought XF5U |
FS2000/FS2002 Vought XF5U. The Vought XF5U-1 Flying Flapjack was an experimental U.S. Navy fighter aircraft designed by Charles H. Zimmerman during World War II. This unorthodox design consisted of a flat, somewhat disk-shaped body serving as the lifting surface. The body drove propellers located on the leading edge at the wingtips. Two aircraft were constructed. The only completed XF5U-1 proved to be so structurally solid that it had to be destroyed by a wrecking ball. Model and textures by Richard Alexander van Hien. 726 kb |

FS2000/FS2002 Caproni CA133 |
FS2000/FS2002 Caproni CA133. Motorised with three engines, but more powerful than the previous Ca.101'ones, it had a mixed construction, with a skeleton of steel tubes for the fuselage and a high wing, roughly elliptical, made structurally in wood and steel, while plywood and fabric were used as skin (fabric was used especially for fuselage). All this gave to this aircraft simplicity and economical maintenance, but also quite modest performances. The weaponry was meant as four machine-guns, one dorsal, one ventral, two laterals, all of Vickers model, another reminiscence of the technology developed in WWI. The bomb bay was able to hold around 800-1000 kg load, and there was the possibility to hold under the fuselage the bigger ordnances, as 500 kg bombs or their versions with chemical charges. The engines were in the nose and under the wings, sustained with strong steel tubes, with elliptical section. The undercarriage was totally fixed. By Richard Alexander van Hien. 800 kb |
