As a stop-over and refueling point between Cape and the Northern Provinces, East and West, it's popularity is growing by the day.  FSX Scenery--Amundsen Paulatuk. Homage to crewmen and scientists of Amundsen Paulatuk, CYPC. This scenery was created to pay tribute to mariners and scientists of Amundsen (a Canadian Coast Guard scientific icebraker) for their scientific and humanitary (medical) mission far up in northern Canada. The ship (landable) is anchored at N69*23.45 W124*03.44 and the shuttle is near the village at N69*20.84 W124*03.72. The ship, the shuttle, the quads and the polars bears are original author's objects. All others are from FSX default objects (the village buildings are non representative of local architecture). | Naval Air Station Pensacola |
 NAS Pensacola is the cradle of Naval Aviation, home of Training Air Wing Six, and the summer home of the Blue Angels flight demonstration Squadron.There are four sets of Carrier deck marks for Field Carrier Landing Practice located on the runways. Colocated with the field is the National Museum of Naval Aviation. All of the hangers and most of the buildings were custom modeled and photographic textures were used where available. The one foot USGS ortho images taken in 2007 were resampled for the ground textures. Ver 1.1 fixes some bugs, improves the color of the ground textures, and adds Chevalier (Station) Field (KNCP) and the seaplane hangers and docks on the southeast portion of the base. Chevalier Field was previously Station Field and was established in the early 30's. The Chevalier Field hangers are still in use today as school and training support buildings for NAS Pensacola. | FSX Scenery--Floyd Bennett Air Field |
  FSX Scenery--Floyd Bennett Air Field (CGAS), NY. Floyd Bennett Field Started out its life in 1931 as the first airport in New York City. Between 1931 and 1941, Floyd Bennett Field was visited as a departure (and often return) point for many record setting aviation endeavors by such notable aviators as Wiley Post, Howard Hughes, Amelia Earhart, Roscoe Turner, Laura Ingalls, Jimmy Doolittle, Jacqueline Cochran, and Douglas "Wrongway" Corrigan. The Coast Guard Air Station was established in 1938, and in 1941, Floyd Bennett Field became Naval Air Station Brooklyn, Floyd Bennett Field. In 1971 the base was decomissioned and the field is currently a Multi-Use Facility managed by the U.S. Park Service. This scenery attempts to capture the field as she was in the transition time-frame, between 1938 and 1941. There are commercial hangars as well as Navy hangars, but the terminal building is strictly 1931-1938 vintage. When the Navy took over, they replaced the control tower cab with a more modern design and changed the "City of New York" lettering on the terminal to "Naval Air Station." The runways were changed and lengthened through the years but they have been modeled at their maximum lengths to enhance operation as a NAS. By Jim Dhaenens. 5.7 mb |
