My FS 2004 is still crashing? I was not able to open the file MSGAME8.CAB I did uninstall the patch 9.1. I also uninstalled Flight sim 2004 again and reinstalled it I then tried to fly again and the same thing. My computer crashes!!! The only extra plans I have installed is SR71, ATR 72-500, Dash - 8, Seahawk and boxer. My game was not doing this before? Does one of the games sound like a problem?

My system is

Pentium 4 (R) 2.4 GHz

1 Gb of Ram

80 GB hard drive that has lots of room on it.

128 Maxtor Radion 3d graphics card

you have uninstalled but probably some corrupted files are still present into documents and settings folder/flight simulator or the registry

usually in rare cases as this, i use the xp utility to back at the day things with my pc were normal ....if you dont loose important files etc, you can use it and back at the day all was ok with your pc.

I am having the same problem. I have NO additional planes and I have switched hard drives and everything else except the motherboard and processor. Those are my next tries. I think it has to do with weak processor. (???????)smiley

I started on the new drive with a clean XP install and it did it prior to installing SP2, so I don't think it is corrupt files in FS9. I am on a AMD Duron 1800 so the lack of L2 cache may be playing a role as well. I changed memory too to rule that out. If the processor doesn't do the trick, I am going to try a hammer!! smiley

((and it did it prior to installing SP2))... i saw now this part....i think it's easy to resolve, same thing happened to me after sp2 install...i had to change the path of fs2004, instead of fs2004.exe change it to fs2002.exe .

When i click the fs2002.exe file into fs9 main folder, the game run normally, if i use the fs2004.exe the game crash....try it and let me know...smiley
